Horseshoes

Well today I played in a horseshoe tournament. I am currently 29% average. At this tourny we usually have like 4 guys who are the big dogs. 40% averages. Well being they only have 4 and the other group just below had 10 they bumped me and this other 29% guy up with the "A" group. They did give us a handicap but it wasn't very much. We got 5 points for two and 7 points for the other two guys. So needless to say I lost all but one game. The first game I played I beat Jim who is like 40%. He was not warmed up and me I was on top of my game. The next two games I didn't score any points just the points from my handicap. Then I played Ray. He had the highest 44%. I came close and lost by 2 points. The second round against Ray I should have won. It was me with 22 and him with 23. He missed both shoes and all I needed was a ringer but NO. You think I could get one. Well I got 2 points making it 24 to 23. Then he got a six pack. Well I did cover one shoe but not the other. That was my closest game. It was kind neat playing with all the older guys and watching how easy they make it look. There were 2 guys in their 70's one in his 60's and 2 in their 50's. I was the baby at 35. I hope with practice and patients I can be as good as them one day. I have only been playing 7 years. I do have tennis elbow which does not help at all. My job also keeps my elbow flared up. Well I have horseshoes again tomorrow. Tomorrow is doubles. They go high/low %. So being 29% I won't get a person with the lowest % but someone around 18% hopefully. It should be a good day.
